Revisions- Table of contents

We completely redid the table of contents for our revision. The 1st reason for this being that the background picture is distracting from the text and in a real world scenario would be very expensive to print. When the picture was removed than there was much unwanted white space. Therefore instead of one picture we decided to have three, one for each article. After some trial and error designing a template we came up with the format below.

This way we could make the feature articles really stand out by separating them and creating a synopsis rather than just bold their titles.

I also slimmed down the amount of articles i put in the table of contents. I went through and decided what would be most important in a real world magazine.

Interviews & Questions

While working on developing my interview questions I had to decide what I wanted to write about. Due to the time of year I decided I wanted to write about winter training. A series of intense workouts that aim to make everyone on the team faster on the water. Due to the fact that I am a rower it was hard to ask questions, because I already know the answers to most of them, but I managed to come up with some 1. By your definition what is winter training ? 2. Do you think it is a necessary part of training ? 3. If you had a choice would you choose to winter train? 4. What is your reasoning ? 5. What is the most important part of rowing? 6. What is something that most people don't know about rowing ? I conducted these interviews either before or after practice.

Mid Term Submission

Contrary to the original plan for the Cover Page I changed the color of the font to white to make sure that the Title and Feature Article tittles were visible. In addition in table of contents I used one large picture rather than several small ones. I had to do this in order to fit all of my article titles on the table of contents. When I was creating the template I didn't account for the large number of article titles.

Revision-Cover page

According to my last post the cover page needed to be revised. This includes changing the title from Sota Sports to Soflo Sports. This makes sure that the magazine can have a larger audience and a more realistic chance of being a successful business. In addition I added a border and worked on the cover in Photoshop in order to give it depth in the title and an overall more sporty look. Finally we changed the font of the feature article titles.
